A very different thrillerI certainly enjoyed the characters in this novel; they were so human with all their foibles。 The fact that the point of view switched with each chapter kept the action moving, and I may be easily fooled, but I did not know who the culprit was until revealed。 Very enjoyable!
Tanya Piper,
Had me thinkingIf your a thriller, psycho loving, keep you guessing book reader like me then this a book for you。 Had me really thinking who was responsible until the last couple chapters。 Well written, makes it easier to really feel the scene the words are depicting。 Definitely a good read。

Very good psychological thriller。 I had an idea of who did it but it was fun to see the whole thing come together。

What a pleasant surprise! This wasn't a book I had in my radar。 I just took advantage of a free book offered via Amazon First Reads and, well。。。。here I am。 But gahhh。 I was SUPER close to plopping 4-stars into this one for the premise and the thrilling journey alone, but alas, it didn't QUITE make it there。 Not that I didn't have a blast reading this thing though。 Once I got accustomed to the British lingo and writing style (always a jarring thing for my little ol' American eyes), I was thorough What a pleasant surprise! Definitely a page turner The suspense and characters were the best I’ve seen lately。 So many possibilities and still caught off guard by the end。 I felt like we truly KNEW the three main characters and the changing POVs was done eloquently。 It also was about RELATIONSHIPS and made me weep with the poignancy。Highly recommend this fast paced heart warming soul touching thriller。
Charie Procter,
Enjoyable whodunitAnother review complained about so much british terminology, but the setting is in the UK,, so it is appropriate。 Also I liked each chapter from another pov。 It only got tedious a little in the middle when I felt the story was going too slow, maybe too much focus on telling all sides of the story that all might not have been necessary
Ellen L Goldberg,
Family dynamics plusSo interesting seeing this story evolve from so many viewpoints。 Each has their own mystery to deal with。 Beautifully woven into the tragedy of a single event that touches all their lives
Anne,
This is one of those creepy good books that keeps you guessing until the end! At her graduation, Gemma is shot and falls into a coma。。。and later must have her leg amputated。 What precipitated this event is complicated and messy, but I guarantee you won't be able to stop reading! Let's face it, families have secrets。。。and these families have more than most! Yep, needed to read this in one sitting (although I guess I could say that about any of Driscoll's books)。 Don't even try to figure it out; j This is one of those creepy good books that keeps you guessing until the end! Guy,
I enjoyed the pace of the writing, but the actions of the characters seemed improbable。 The author loves to have her characters "liaise", also。 They liaise on about a dozen different occasions。 To an American reader, that is simply odd。 If the word is popular in the UK, I've not heard it used in other books。Speaking of American readers, just about any of them will be surprised that a university is contemplating shutting down other graduation ceremonies just because one person got shot。 Sadly, gu I enjoyed the pace of the writing, but the actions of the characters seemed improbable。 The author loves to have her characters "liaise", also。 They liaise on about a dozen different occasions。 To an American reader, that is simply odd。 If the word is popular in the UK, I've not heard it used in other books。Speaking of American readers, just about any of them will be surprised that a university is contemplating shutting down other graduation ceremonies just because one person got shot。 Sadly, guns are so common in the U。S。, and shootings such a part of daily life, that this "shock" over someone bringing a gun to graduation (our Governor in Texas specifically demands students be allowed to openly carry guns and without a permit, to boot) is also hard to imagine。 If only we really did live that way。 Similarly, a character being "on drugs" seems dated。 Being a drug addict doesn't manifest itself the way it is presented in this book。As I said, I like the pace of the writing, but I don't believe the writer has an understanding of addiction, drug use, or crime。 She is in her most honest voice when she is speaking through the character of the mother。 Her other characters do not have the same ring of sincerity。 。。。more
Robert S Mezinko,
Poor EffortI had read one of this authors previous books and since it was passable I thought that another book might be worth it。 Boy was I mistaken。 This book was rambling and boring。 It kept switching back and forth between time frames and characters。 It was confusing and dull。 Wouldn't recommend wasting your time。 Poor EffortI had read one of this authors previous books and since it was passable I thought that another book might be worth it。 Boy was I mistaken。 This book was rambling and boring。 It kept switching back and forth between time frames and characters。 It was confusing and dull。 Wouldn't recommend wasting your time。 。。。more

Kathy,
I liked this book。 I like the character development。 The author did a good job of allowing us to decide who did this crime(s) and I was fooled。 I would like to see a sequel with more about the PI。
Sharon Smith,
When Gemma is shot at her graduation and out in a coma secrets are unraveled related to her family and her secret lives。 PI Matthew works together with the police to uncover all of the secrets and solve who shot Gemma。 This book had multiple twists and turns throughout。 Whose secret has led to Gemma being shot? Her father's? Mother's? Or one of her own。I loved the twist ending- I predicted it right before it came to fruition and felt satisfied having been right。 Nice novel for fans of thriller/s When Gemma is shot at her graduation and out in a coma secrets are unraveled related to her family and her secret lives。 PI Matthew works together with the police to uncover all of the secrets and solve who shot Gemma。 This book had multiple twists and turns throughout。 Whose secret has led to Gemma being shot? This was an easy, fast-paced read for me。 I thought the author did a good job of keeping you guessing throughout。 Only downside was it seemed to wrap up rather quickly once the big reveal happened。

Vonna Fortner,
Very good thriller I did have the right idea of the killer before the big reveal, but usually do 99% of the time。 Good writing and build up to the end where author ties everything neatly together。 Don’t remember being bored over amount of dialogue and pages, so that says a lot!

Great readI really enjoyed this book and I had to make myself put it down。 I love Teresa Driscoll's writing style, she really knows how to keep the reader engaged。 The only reason I didn't give this a full 5 stars is because I felt that Sally was a bit excessive。 I can understand being the concerned wife, but she was entirely too dramatic for me。 Great readI really enjoyed this book and I had to make myself put it down。 I love Teresa Driscoll's writing style, she really knows how to keep the reader engaged。 The only reason I didn't give this a full 5 stars is because I felt that Sally was a bit excessive。 I can understand being the concerned wife, but she was entirely too dramatic for me。 。。。more

i forever wish we could grant partial stars, but alas。 as it is, the story was fast moving enough, and i enjoy that the title speaks very obviously to the overall theme, that one can come from a seemingly perfect family or want a perfect family, but hardly anything is ever as perfect as portrayed or imagined。 the mother wanted a perfect family, the daughter had a perfect family, one suspect came from a perfect family, one suspect thought she had a perfect family, and so on and so forth, but all i forever wish we could grant partial stars, but alas。 as it is, the story was fast moving enough, and i enjoy that the title speaks very obviously to the overall theme, that one can come from a seemingly perfect family or want a perfect family, but hardly anything is ever as perfect as portrayed or imagined。 the mother wanted a perfect family, the daughter had a perfect family, one suspect came from a perfect family, one suspect thought she had a perfect family, and so on and so forth, but all had secrets or were trying to unearth them。 the narration jumping every three pages was a bit obnoxious and a few details grated, but it was a serviceable story。 。。。more
